Make the masa

Combine your masa harina with water to form a dough (masa) that should be similar to play dough.

Beat the fat

Beat the shortening or vegan butter until it's a light and fluffy texture.

Put it together

Combine everything together until you have a light and airy dough. Add water as you need.

Fold it up

Fold a strip of leaf into a cone shape, stuff it with dough, then fold it like a triangle until it's all covered.

Steam the corundas

Line a steamer with extra leaves, then add the corundas in. Cover them with more leaves and a towel before steaming.

Serve with sauce

Corundas go really well with salsa roja and cashew crema for a delicious snack!
