🍑 What is peach juice?
Peach juice is simply made from 100% pure peaches that have been blended into liquid form. It contains no other ingredients, meaning it’s completely free of refined sugars, additives, and preservatives.
Much like orange juice, peach juice can be served strained for a smooth texture, or unstrained for a boost of fiber. Both versions taste just as delicious and refreshing!
🤔 Is peach nectar the same as peach juice?
Often used interchangeably, peach juice and peach nectar are not quite the same. Unlike peach juice, peach nectar is made up of a combination of peaches, sweeteners, water, and an acid (such as lemon juice).
At a glance, there are several ways to distinguish the two:
- Color: 100% peach juice is made from just fruit, meaning its color is often much bolder than peach nectar, which is diluted with other ingredients.
- Consistency: Juice is often thinner than nectar. Yet, it is worth noting that some fruits such as pears and apricots are often only sold as nectars since they are too thick to serve as 100% juice.
- Ingredients: Pure peach juice should have just one ingredient on the label. If it contains water, sugar, and other additives, it’s likely nectar.

📜 History
Now a popular social media trend, juice-making dates back all the way to 150 B.C. According to archaeologists, there are written records from a tribe in Israel, the Essenes. These records describe the process of mashing pomegranates and figs into a juice to be consumed for its health benefits.
As for modern-day juicing, Dr. Norman Walker is credited with inventing the first juicing machine using a hydraulic press to extract the juice. This invention allowed for the mass evolution of machines, both commercially and in homes.
Nowadays, drinking fruit juice remains a popular way to consume fruits and vegetables in order to reap their health benefits. The variety of flavors and combinations is endless!
🌱 Is peach juice vegan?
Pure peach juice contains nothing more than fresh peaches, making it completely vegan-friendly.
However, be sure to double-check the ingredient list of any store-bought juice as they sometimes contain additives that may not be compliant with a vegan diet.

📝 Instructions
Step 1: Wash the peaches
To begin, wash the peaches in cold water. Next, remove their pits, and roughly chop them into pieces. You can remove the skin from the peaches, but it’s completely fine to leave it on. In fact, it helps add a boost of fiber to your juice!

Step 2: Blend the peaches
Discard the pits, and add all of the peach chunks to a high-speed blender, juicer, or food processor. Then, blend or pulse on high until a smooth consistency is reached.

Step 3: Strain & chill
If you prefer a thinner consistency, strain your peach juice through a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer. Transfer the juice to a large mason jar to chill in the fridge, or serve it over ice immediately. Happy drinking!
