Strawberry juice is a sweet, nutritious, and refreshing drink made from just one ingredient โ€” strawberries! Easily make a batch in under 5 minutes using a blender, juicer, or food processor.

If simplicity had a taste, it would be this strawberry juice! It’s pure and irresistibly sweet, just like my peach juice. Transform the juicy flavor of ripe strawberries into a thirst-quenching drink with minimal effort.

Why I love this recipe

Fresh strawberry juice is an energizing drink that can be enjoyed any time of the year. It’s made up of 100% pure juice, meaning there are no sweeteners, additives, or anything else like that.

Much like jugo verde, it contains vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, potassium, folic acid, manganese, copper, zinc, and calcium. This recipe is also vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, and great for kids!

It takes all of 5 minutes, and you just need access to a blender or food processor. You can either strain it or leave it unstrained for the nutritional benefits of fiber. You can even try making an alcoholic strawberry drink like this strawberry basil smash.

Strawberries
Fresh, ripe, and in-season strawberries provide the best balance of sweet, juicy flavors. If possible, I recommend using organic strawberries and washing them well before use. You can also use frozen strawberries for this recipe.

How to make

Preparation

Before getting into making the strawberry juice, wash your strawberries under cold water to remove dirt or pesticides. If they’re organic, a quick rinse is enough. Otherwise, you may want to soak them in a mixture of vinegar and water.

Non-organic strawberries are one of the mostย heavily sprayed foods, so they really need to be washed thoroughly. If possible, I highly recommend splurging on organic strawberries.

Assembly

Step 1
Hull the strawberries to remove the green leafy tops if you prefer a smoother juice without the bitterness that can sometimes come from the greens.

I like to keep as much of the fruit as possible, so I don’t usually use a paring knife. Instead, I just rip the green tops off with my hands.

Step 2
Place the strawberries in a blender or food processor. Blend the berries on high until the mixture is completely smooth. This should take about 30-60 seconds, depending on your blender.

If your strawberries are not as ripe or sweet as you’d like, try adding a teaspoon of agave or maple syrup to sweeten your juice naturally.

Step 3
For juice without pulp, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag into a large bowl. Use the back of a spoon to press down and extract as much juice as possible. Transfer the juice to a glass and add ice. Happy drinking!

Don’t discard the pulp! It can be used in smoothies, baking, or as a natural sweetener in oatmeal.

Expert tip

Use strawberries at their peak ripeness to ensure your juice is naturally sweet, vibrant in color, and bursting with flavor, minimizing the need for added sweeteners. Look for bright red berries with an intense strawberry aroma.

To enhance your strawberry juice, you can add a hint of fresh mint or basil during the blending process. These herbs complement the sweetness of the strawberries and add a refreshing twist!

Add a squeeze of citrus: A bit of freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice can enhance the strawberries’ natural flavors and add a zesty note.

Is it possible to make juice without a juicer?

Yes, it is possible to make juice without a juicer. A blender or food processor both make great alternatives, especially if you don’t juice often. Depending on your blender, you may need to strain the pulp and seeds.

Can this juice be made with frozen strawberries?

Yes, this juice can absolutely be made with frozen strawberries. Just use an equal amount as fresh and blend them right from frozen. If you don’t have a high-speed blender, you may need to add a little water to get the blades moving.

Why is my strawberry juice bitter?

It could be from unripe berries or the white core. Make sure to use ripe strawberries and remove any white parts.

Storing & reheating

Strawberry juice is best enjoyed fresh for the most nutrients, but if you have leftovers, they can be stored.

Fridge
Strawberry juice can be stored in the fridge. Use an airtight container or a glass bottle with a tight seal for up to 2 days for optimal freshness.

Freezer
Freezing is a great option for extending the life of your strawberry juice. Pour the juice into ice cube trays or freezer-safe containers, leaving some space for expansion. Frozen strawberry juice can last for up to 3 months.
